25 Years of Collaboration between HMS and GFS
LOOKIN’ OUT MY WINDOW
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Something Magical project, and our program will take a special turn. The musical will focus on the children themselves. In the past, we acted out metaphorical stories, with the children playing fictional characters. Lookin’ Out My Window, a musical revue, reflects the thoughts and feelings of HMS and GFS students as they experience each other from week to week. The musical will also weave in reflections and writings of students who participated over the past 25 years.
Lookin’ Out My Window will give the audience an opportunity to look through the eyes of students from both schools and to gain a perspective as to what they see.
Students from HMS and GFS will narrate the musical, while presenting songs, poetry, and other writings, as well as dance and art that will weave together to reflect the worlds of the students from both schools, and how they differ and are the same.
We request that past students who participated in the Something Magical project share their reflections about their experiences. We are mailing them invitations to attend the performance on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 2 p.m., and ask them to answer the following questions:
· What year did you participate in the Something Magical Project?
· What do you remember about the project and your partner?
· Do any songs or stories/characters come to mind from your experience? Please describe.
· What impact did participation in this project have on you?
· What are you doing now? Your family? Your career?
· Have you stayed in touch with your partner? Why or why not?
· How do you feel about returning to see the 25th anniversary celebration?
· How do you feel about seeing your partner again?

We’re creating a special T-shirt for this celebration featuring Something Magical’s 25th anniversary and all of the musicals we’ve performed together over the years: On The Other Side Of The Fence, Under The Fence, The Return Of Halley’s Comet, The Same Sky, The Rainbow Sea, People Of The Light, Same City, Lookin’ Out My Window.
